Learn to provide depression-specific therapy for individual clients in an IAPT setting.
The Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD) programme trains counsellors to provide a depression-specific therapy for individual clients in an IAPT setting. It provides CPD for Counsellors who are already trained in person-centred or humanistic approaches and who have significant clinical experience.

Course information
The CfD CPD training provides continuing professional development for counsellors who are already trained in person-centred or humanistic approaches and who have significant clinical experience. The course consists of a five-day taught programme, followed by a period of supervised clinical work. The CfD programme trains counsellors to provide a depression-specific therapy for individual clients in an IAPT setting.

Diploma in humanistic or person centred counselling or psychotherapy Evidence of working towards BACP Counsellor/Psychotherapy accreditation or equivalent |
Postgraduate qualification in humanistic or person centred counselling or psychotherapy. Current BACP counsellor/psychotherapy accreditation or equivalent. Qualification to provide clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists (e.g. Certificate or Diploma in Supervision). |
Experience | |
Minimum two year post qualifying experience to providing brief counselling to clients with common mental health problems, particularly depression. |
Experience of providing clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists in organisational settings. |
Other | |
Opportunity to undertake 80 hours of client practice with depressed clients. Support of Line Manager to participate. Support of Supervisor to participate. Support of SHA/Commissioner to participate, if funding is being sought. |
Please note that there will be a one year training period post attendance on the course (5 days on-site). All applicants must submit their assessment tapes within this period.

Please note that funded places are directly allocated to employers by Health Education England, we can therefore only accept bookings for this course which meet this allocation.

Closing date for applications is three weeks prior to the start of the course.
