Improve your career confidence through our expert support, advice and guidance.

The team are here to help you develop your graduate attributes through 1 to 1 appointments, in-curriculum sessions, information drop-ins, and many other events, talks and programmes.

Finding and applying for work, exploring options, reflecting on your skills and strengths, making career decisions or developing business ideas. The careers team is open to all current and former students.

What we offer

Careers appointments

Whether you are just getting started thinking about your future or have some clear ideas, you can book a 1 to 1 appointment to discuss your plans.

Typical queries include:

  • I don't know what to do
  • What careers are available to me?
  • How do I get experience?
  • I'd like in-depth help for an application or interview
  • I'm thinking about further study
  • I have an enterprise idea to discuss
  • What are my options as an international student?

Our Careers Advice appointments last 20 or 30 minutes and can be either in person, on video call or as a campus 'walk and talk'.

There are 4 appointment options:

Available to all students, except final year, postgraduates and graduates. This is a 30 minute careers advice and guidance appointment.

Only available to final year students, postgraduates and graduates. This is a 30 minute careers advice and guidance appointment.

Available to all students. This is a 20 minute appointment for help with your Employability Profile, finding resources, careers information, CV and application reviews.

Available to all students. This is a 30 minute appointment for help with exploring or developing a business idea, or being your own boss.

In-curriculum careers sessions

A core element of our work is in curriculum, working closely with the academic teams to deliver timely, relevant and engaging careers education. These take the form of interactive activities, employer or alumni talks, lectures and open discussions, all of which support your career choices, self-awareness and development of your graduate attributes.
