1 to 1 support
Our dedicated Graduate and Enterprise Adviser can discuss your ideas with you, help you to road test and develop them, and open up access to much more advice and guidance. Please book an enterprise appointment through Handshake.
Mentoring
Through The Kickstart Programme, you’ll have access to specialist business mentoring. Our experienced freelancers, advisers and industry specialists can help you to progress your ideas and plans. If you're an artist wanting to sell your work, a web developer, or you aspire to create a charitable enterprise, our mentors can provide individualised advice on funding, planning, marketing, pricing, insurance and much more.
Freelance paid work
If you're a current or aspiring freelancer, and love the flexibility of being your own boss, we broker paid projects with employers around York and Yorkshire. You will work on a self-employed basis for the employer, facilitated and supported by us.
Examples of these projects have included a company logo re-brand, corporate video and web design.

Ingenuity
If you're passionate about climate change, the health of others or your community, Ingenuity is a national competition that can help you develop ideas for change and turn them into social impact businesses.
You will be supported and mentored along the way with the opportunity to ultimately secure £1000s of valuable business funding to make your idea a reality.
