If you wish to have an external speaker at your event, you must seek approval through the University’s relevant 'External Speakers' process.

An external speaker is defined as anyone who is not a York St John University student or member of staff.

In order to gain permission to host an external speaker at your event please complete the University's external speaker form and return it to events@yorksj.ac.uk.

External Speakers Request Form (docx, 0.4 MB)

Your request must be submitted no later than 10 working days before your event is due to take place and you must not publicise your external speaker's attendance until you receive authorisation to proceed.

If there is a query about the speaker under the University’s Freedom of Speech Code of Practice, your request will be forwarded to the Chief Operating Officer for consideration.
