Organising a speaker

How to apply for approval to have a speaker at your event.

If you wish to have an external speaker at your event, you must seek approval through the University’s Speaker Approval Process.

An external speaker is defined as anyone who is not a York St John University student or member of staff.

In order to gain permission to host a speaker at your event please complete the University's Speaker Request form using the link below. If you have any questions, please email events@yorksj.ac.uk.

Your request must be submitted no later than 15 working days before your event is due to take place and you must not publicise your speaker's attendance until you receive authorisation to proceed.

If there is a query about the speaker under the University’s Freedom of Speech Code of Practice, your request will be forwarded to the Events team for consideration.
