CV and application support
CV and application support is given through 1 to 1 appointments with a Careers Adviser. We can provide support with your applications for part time jobs, placements, or graduate jobs.
Having an impressive CV and a social media profile can help you to stand out despite the fact that the job market can be challenging for international students in general.
Professional experience
We are committed to supporting you in securing professional experience by organising workshops and informative sessions throughout the semester.
As a York St John University student, you can also access job vacancies through the platform Handshake to search for job openings. It is not easy to find an professional experience or industrial placement but you can improve your chances by preparing early.

Searching for graduate jobs should be an ongoing process, so don't wait until the last minute to begin your search.
You may have too many ideas about what you want to do, or no idea about what to choose. We offer 1 to 1 career consultations, workshops and informative sessions so you can prepare yourself from the start of your course.

Career events
As well as regularly hosting industry guest speakers, the Careers team runs on-campus job fairs throughout the year. These are a great opportunity for York St John students from any discipline to expand their professional network, get information about current vacancies, and learn more about graduate and training schemes.
