We have a variety of student information channels to ensure you have all the information you need to be successful at York St John University.

We email you a monthly newsletter with information from across the University.

The newsletter contains articles on various aspects of student life, as well as opportunities, wellbeing support, access to services and events.

You are automatically signed up to this when you join us.

YSJ Student Life blog

York St John has its own student blog, YSJ Life, written by our students.

Here you can find articles and videos on everything from tips on how to cut the cost of your food shop to how to deal with homesickness, volunteering experiences, study advice and much more.

Keeping in contact

When you enrolled you will have accepted the Student Charter and agreed to certain communications responsibilities. Please make sure you are following the agreed principles.

Your responsibilities

You must make sure that your student record is up-to-date at all times so that the University can contact you. It is your responsibility to ensure that your home and term addresses are correct on your academic record. To update your details:

  • Log into the intranet
  • Select Personal Details from the left-hand menu
  • Change your personal details including home and term address accordingly

Formal electronic correspondence from the University will be sent to your University email address and occasionally to your personal email address.

It is therefore important that you check your University email account daily and update your personal email on the intranet, particularly before, during, and after examination/assessment periods.
