Claiming expenses
Find out how to get money back for course spending during your time at university.
You may be able to get money back for course spending by submitting a claim form.
You can get money back for:
- The cost of travel to school placements (excluding PGCE students)
- The cost of materials for drama productions
- The cost of bursaries, scholarships, Spark awards and uniform cheques
Making a claim
Claims must be submitted within 2 months of your purchase. To make a claim you will need:
- Photos or scans of receipts, tickets or proofs of purchase
- A completed claim form
Submit your completed claim by email to finance@yorksj.ac.uk.

What happens next
Your expenses refund will be paid into your bank account. This can take up to 3 weeks.

You can check we have the correct bank details in e:Vision. Go to Check your balance and bank details, and then to Manage your bank details for refunds or expenses.
