Go York lecture on training Formula One World Champions

Formula One personal trainer and sports therapist Mark Arnall will be visiting York St John University to deliver a free public lecture, Training Formula One World Champions, on Thursday 6 December.

Mark Arnall is the personal trainer and sports therapist to Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen. Having worked in Formula One since 1997, Mark also trained double World Champion Mika Hakkinen at McLaren between 1997 and 2002. Since then, Mark has worked with Kimi Raikkonen who he followed to Ferrari where he became World Champion in 2007.

As part of the University’s Go York series, the lecture will explore Mark’s journey into Formula One including some of the decisions he had to make on the way, his experience of working with high profile sports stars and his role during a typical race weekend.

Go York is a series of lectures which bring together York St John University’s eminent academics, high profile speakers and the local community for a series of events to be enjoyed by all.

Training Formula One World Champions will take place in Fountains Lecture Theatre at York St John University at 6:30pm on 6 December; attendees are welcome to arrive from 5:45pm for refreshments and the opportunity to network.
