Boohoo.com scholarship launch

In a unique collaboration, the University is working with Honorary Graduate Carol Kane, co-founder of Boohoo.com, to launch a competition to win scholarships that will fund one year, full-time masters degrees at our campus in the heart of London.

Available exclusively to Boohoo.com customers, lucky winners will be able to turn business dreams into reality with industry-relevant masters degrees. This extraordinary funding opportunity will be available to talented, creative entrepreneurs who can demonstrate their commitment to creating a successful company with an ethical conscience.  Open to makers, creators and innovators who care equally about serving their customers and contributing to a better society, the competition will look for thought given to suppliers, causes and values at the heart of creative business ideas.

The judging panel, which includes Carol Kane, will consider 500 word submissions on original, commercial, and financially achievable business ideas, alongside a five-minute video and short explanation of financial need.

All three of the MSc courses on offer specialise in a rapidly expanding area of business innovation: fashion; fitness and design.  Each offers a compelling combination of academic insight and hands-on, practical experience supported by industry.   The courses start in October 2019 and run until August 2020, followed by graduation in November 2020 at  York Minster.  Each course includes an essential industry experience module. 

Entrants will need to apply and receive an offer for the Masters course before receiving a scholarship and will need to hold (or be predicted) at least a 2:2 undergraduate degree, although exceptional circumstances will be considered where relevant work experience can be demonstrated.  The competition is open to UK and EU students only and the closing date is 31 July 2019.
