Best-selling psychology author Richard Gross to join York St John as a Visiting Professor

The School of Psychological and Social Sciences is delighted to announce that Richard Gross, best-selling psychology textbook author, will join the psychology team from September 2018. He will be lecturing first year Psychology students during their first week and conducting seminars with them throughout semester 2, providing a unique overview of the discipline of psychology from one of the most trusted names in the field.
Richard Gross’s many textbooks include ‘Psychology: The Science of Mind & Behaviour’, ‘Key Studies in Psychology’, ‘Psychology in Historical Context’ and ‘The Psychology of Grief’.
Professor Mark Edwards, Pro Vice-Chancellor International and Head of School of Psychological & Social Sciences said:
“The name Richard Gross will be familiar to many students as he is the author of several key textbooks in psychology. He will bring his unique expertise to our undergraduate psychology programmes and we look forward to welcoming him to the University and introducing him to our incoming and current students.”
The BSc (Hons) Psychology programme provides students with a core knowledge of the scientific foundations of the subject, insight into cutting-edge research in psychological science, and a range of transferable skills relevant to applied psychological practice and postgraduate research. The programme is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) as an approved undergraduate sequence of study in psychology in the UK.
