School leavers and their families offered free online sessions to demystify Clearing ahead of A level results day

York St John University is pleased to be offering free online events designed to help prospective students and their families to navigate university entry. Taking place on Tuesday 4, Wednesday 5, and Thursday 6 August, the webinars will offer an informal chance to ask questions about Clearing and learn what to expect on A level results day (Thursday 13 August).

Building on a popular webinar series on applying to university, the events will be delivered by Matthew Taylor, Director of Admissions at York St John University, who has 29 years of experience in the higher education sector.

Matthew’s advice to university applicants is to stay as calm and clear headed as possible this year, as there will be plenty of good opportunities through clearing. Although applicants should act quickly and decisively, the clearing period tends to last beyond results day and that is likely to be the case this year. So don’t panic, think carefully, and do your research before accepting an offer.

In addition to the events, York St John is supporting Clearing applicants with guaranteed accommodation. Those who apply and accept their offers by Saturday 15 August are guaranteed a place in University managed accommodation or with our trusted accommodation partners.
