Boston Spa School, Prior Pursglove College, Newcastle Sixth Form College, Richmond School and Scarborough Sixth Form College sent a total of 15 teams to the campus earlier this week.

The A Level Business Studies pupils were tasked with developing a creative brief for the new MINI Clubman and pitch their brief to a panel of judges.

First prize was a trip for the winning students to the MINI Oxford Plant later in the year and a weekend-long test drive of the MINI Clubman for the teacher involved.

The winning team were a group from Prior Pursglove College (pictured).

Noel Dennis, Associate Dean, York St John Business School, said: “We were delighted with how the event went. All the teams responded positively to a challenging live brief and produced some very creative and imaginative work.

“We are proud of our association with MINI UK and Cooper York MINI and continue to develop this relationship for the benefit of both our current and prospective students - it is so important that students are exposed to the real world of business.

“Congratulations to the winning team!”

The judging panel, who are all MINI owners, were Matt Dalton (Head of Business, Cooper York MINI), Tricia Sherriff (Owner, She Loves York), Richard Christie (Hotel du Vin, York) and Noel Dennis (Associate Dean, York St John Business School).
