The partnership between the CMI and York St John Business School starts with a cohort of York St John employees beginning their Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership Qualification in September 2015.

This also means current and future undergraduate and MBA students will be able to have the opportunity to gain professional accreditation from the CMI alongside their degree.

The evening included a welcome from Head of Department, David Norris and presentations from CMI members Keith Richardson, Head of Higher Education Partnerships, Brian Wilkinson, Relationship Manager, Higher Education, Sharyn Coleman, Regional Board Chair and David Broadhead, CMI Ambassador.

Noel Dennis, Associate Dean of York St John Business School said:

"This event was a celebration of our relationship with the CMI, which will provide great opportunities for our students and the wider business community. It provided an insight into membership of the professional institution and allowed current CMI members to share their expertise with students and staff alike."

Brian Wilkinson, Relationship Manager for the CMI added:

"The CMI are delighted to be entering into a strategic partnership with York St John University. We have a clear vision of enabling better led and managed organisations and working in collaboration with the University will fuel this ambition. As the partnership develops I am certain the University, its students and  academics, as well as the local business community will benefit through our joint activities."
