Visit from international theatre director Maria Aberg

Published: 26 March 2015

Maria talked particularly about her approach to gender blind casting and about some of the issues around gender in contemporary society.

Julie Raby, Head of Department: Humanities, said: "This was an amazing opportunity for our students to hear about the work of one of the country's leading theatre directors.

"Maria's work is innovative, creative and thought provoking and we were delighted that Maria was able to take time out of her busy schedule to visit us at York St John University and present some illuminating insights into some of the productions she has directed."

Maria is one of a number of well-known speakers who have visited York St John recently to work with students on our Literature and creative writing programmes. Other recent visitors have included the award-winning playwright, Vivienne Franzmann and the author Maggie Gee.
