Sandi’s ‘Time to Activate’ lecture, part of an inspirational series of Go York events presented by York St John University, takes place in Temple Hall on the University’s Lord Mayor’s walk campus on Thursday 29 September at 6pm.

Sandi was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her career has blended the worlds of performing, presenting and writing and she is well known for appearing on a variety of Radio 4 programmes; she presented the travel programme Excess Baggage for ten years and was chair of The News Quiz (BBC Radio 4). On TV she is the current host of Fifteen to One (Channel 4) and presented the latest series of the legendary BBC 2 quiz show QI. Sandi has written over twenty books including fact and fiction, children and adults. Her latest novel ‘The End of the Sky’ will be published in 2017.

Sandi is passionate about education and is the Chancellor of Portsmouth University. She graduated from Cambridge University with a first class degree and is an honorary graduate of York St John University. Her Go York lecture is part of the University’s 175 Year Anniversary celebrations and will be followed by a dinner with women from York’s business, education and charity communities.
