The Chair of Visit York, Jane Lady Gibson, will host the next Go York lecture at York St John University.

‘How to have a job for 30 years without ever having a career’ will explore self-employment and how encouraging people to follow this route can be a positive experience.

The lecture will take place in De Grey Lecture Theatre on Thursday 13 March 2014 at 6:30pm, with an arrival reception from 5:45pm. The lecture is free and open to all members of the local community.

Jane Lady Gibson has more than 25 years’ experience of strategic development and as well as her position with Visit York, she is a member of the advisory board for National Trust Yorkshire & North East, an advisor at enterprise charity SkillsBridge and is director of performing arts company November Club.

Her experience includes economic developments through cultural and creative industries, large-scale capital development, European and Single Pot funding, running a small business and public and third sector governance.

Go York is a series of lectures which bring together York St John University’s eminent academics, high profile speakers and the local community for a series of events to be enjoyed by all.
