Graduates celebrate success at first ever ceremonies in the capital for York St John University London

Students at York St John University London have graduated for the first time at ceremonies held in London on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 March. The celebrations took place in London’s historic Guildhall with over 800 students awarded postgraduate degrees. 

Graduation marks an important milestone for students and the London-based ceremonies are a special moment for the University’s London campus, as previous graduates received their degrees at York St John’s annual ceremonies held in York Minster. The Class of 2024 celebrated their achievements across 4 ceremonies, presided over by the University’s Chancellor, BBC presenter Reeta Chakrabarti, and Vice Chancellor of York St John University, Professor Karen Bryan OBE. 

York St John University opened its first London campus located close to the Barbican in 2018. Following significant growth in student numbers for London based postgraduate courses, the University moved to its current campus in the Export building at East India Dock in 2022. Close to Canary Wharf, the campus is part of a vibrant, dynamic and innovative hub of creative, technology, and start-up businesses. 

Congratulating graduates, Professor Karen Bryan OBE, Vice Chancellor of York St John University said:  

“Today, we welcome our graduating Class of 2024 to the spectacular setting of the Guildhall London’s Great Hall. In this extraordinary building, with its 2000-year history, we celebrate the many achievements of our graduates as they look to their future.
